AKA-VORTEX | Hydrocyclones

Solid-liquid Separation, Classification and Sorting

AKA-VORTEX hydrocyclones are used for wet-mechanical separation, classifying and sorting processes of various raw materials.

AKA-VORTEX are available in three different versions with additional add-ons:

AKA-VORTEX conical
AKA-VORTEX flat-bottom
AKA-VORTEX twin

Principle of Operation

The hydrocyclone works like a solid bowl centrifuge but is slim in design. Its body is stationary. Flow arising from the tangential feed under pump pressure initiates rotation. The fluid is subjected to centrifugal forces, leading to the creation of a primary vortex, which is directed downwards, and an internal secondary vortex directed upwards. This leads to a segregation effect of particles present in the fluid, due to a radially outward sedimentation.

Key Benefits

Modular system due to simple connectors and adaptors

Adaption to changing operation parameters

Optimized life time due to specialized materials and lining
